To Escape Reality

     Sure, this isn't my favorite quote, but maybe someone else will find deeper meaning to it?

     Today was a freaking fabulous day. Although I didn't get to sleep in at all over the three day weekend, every single day I did something great. I woke up today at 7, which is earlier than I usually get up for school! Amanda and her family came around 8:30. The four of us all headed off to church in Greeley. I have never officially been to a church like that, not on a regular basis that is. I really did like the church she goes to though. It's huge and the people there are absolutely awesome. Anyways, Amanda and I hung out there until around 10:30. You should see the guys that go to her church!

     Anyways, we all went to lunch and had a really good time. We took longer than planned, so we were almost late to the game! As crazy as it may sound, one of my favorite things about going to Denver is getting  to people watch from the car. I love driving by strangers and seeing all the crazy stuff they are doing as they are driving down the road. One time I even saw this guy shaving and brushing his teeth on his way to work! People these days...

     I'm not going to lie: I was nervous to go to my first baseball game. I wasn't exactly a die-hard Rockie's fan either, because I didn't think they were all that good. I did, however, appreciated how cute some of them were! I'm definitely a football and hockey chick, you could say. Anyways, Rockie's lost 7-2 against the Braves. Near the middle of the game, as the Braves were up to bat, one of the guys fouled a ball out into the crowd a few rows back. The ball was rocketed towards the crowd. Luckily, it was caught and all was good. Amanda and I just looked at each other, and I joked that if a foul ball was to fly towards us like that I will move Amanda in front of me to save my own life! I wish I would have knocked on wood because my superstition definitely got the best of me.

     At that very moment, a foul ball lodged up in the air, and than sky dived right down on top of us. This whole time Amanda is screaming and I'm just starring at this ball, in utter disbelief! The ball landed arms length away from us, and then bounced about 10 feet up in the air. Some old man practically tackled these two little boys for the foul ball. After this mad incident, these old pervs next to us asked us why we didn't catch the ball. Me, being the spontaneous person that I am, was still in a dead panic. I explained to them that we had nothing to catch the ball with, and we also didn't believe the ball was going to land that close to us. To wrap things up, Amanda and I were still shaking after the near death experience. And I wish I was being dramatic!

     As you can tell, I had the time of my life today with this girl (now I know you are singing that song by The Black Eyed Peas! It's really good to know that I have friends outside my everyday friend group that likes to be around me. Sometimes I just want to run away from the world, where no one knows who I am. It would be nice in some ways just to start over. Hanging out with Amanda today made me feel like I had the chance to be myself and "start over". I really do like this girl. At the beginning of the year, I had my doubts, I'm not going to lie. But that's just the thing with life. I judged her before I truly got to know her. I thought all this crap about her, when in reality, none of it was true! She's been hurt a lot this year, and I'm honored to know that she can trust me. I hope Amanda knows that I'm here for her, and after this amazing day, I always will. Today I was taken away from the daily stresses of school, friends, and family issues. I had the chance to escape reality with someone who also desperately needed a break. I wish I had more days like these...
